Environment
SDG 12, with SDG 13Sustainable consumption, responsible waste, and climate awareness, from 2026.
Wazi’s newest pillar focuses on sustainable consumption, responsible waste practices, and climate awareness among young people and communities. Built with grassroots youth groups across Nairobi, the work begins in 2026 and connects directly to existing health (Green the Red) and education (climate modules in AYP) tracks.
Three sub-areas under Environment.
Waste Management and Clean-ups
Community clean-up initiatives, partnership with Nairobi City County workers, and waste-stream documentation. Pairs with the Green the Red work on menstrual product disposal.
Climate Awareness and Education
Climate change awareness modules running through the AYP curriculum and youth capacity building tracks. Murals as climate education objects.
Upcycling and Sustainable Consumption
Creative reuse initiatives and behavioural change work on consumption and production. Built directly with grassroots youth groups in Kayole, Korogocho, and beyond.
Green the Red

The first cross-pillar program Wazi has built.
