Overview

Wazi supports both formal and informal education systems by strengthening access, quality, and inclusivity for children and young people. Three sub-areas, each tied to a different age group: grassroots learning support for children, AYP Mentorship for adolescents 11 to 18, and Youth Capacity Building for 19 to 35s.

Sub-area 01

Grassroots Education Support

Book drives, literacy campaigns, and resource mobilisation with under-resourced community learning centres. Supported partners include Change a Life Learning Center, Dandora Arts and Study Center, and Ufanisi Education Center.

AYP Mentorship Program (11 to 18)

A structured 10-module curriculum covering SRHR, mental health, career mapping, SDGs, and life skills. 500+ direct participants, 1,000+ indirect reach, curriculum tested by 9 partner organisations.

Youth Capacity Building (19 to 35)

University and community youth development: leadership and governance, financial literacy and career development, mental health awareness, climate and sustainability education, volunteerism and civic engagement. Includes the KU Chapter and a 35+ national volunteer network.

AYP Mentorship Program

Adolescents and young people 11 to 18 work through ten modules over a school holiday cohort. SRHR, mental health, career mapping, SDGs, life skills. Built on Six Thinking Hats methodology and art-based learning, with separate boys’ and girls’ safe-space sessions and certificate completion.
