Overview

Wazi promotes meaningful youth participation in decision-making processes that affect young people’s lives and communities. The work spans civic and governance engagement, youth-led program design, research and lived-experience documentation, policy analysis, and community accountability.

Civic and Governance Engagement

Youth voter awareness, IEBC data accountability, and active participation in moments that matter. Wazi was on the streets during Reject Finance Bill 2024 and Dignity in Public Service.

Research and Lived Experience

Documentation, evidence-building, and policy analysis grounded in the people the policies affect. Published research on sustainable menstrual health approaches for grassroots initiatives in Kenya.

Featured Moment

On the World Stage

Wazi has represented at UNEA-7 and the Global Major Groups and Stakeholders Forum, taking youth advocacy on environmental governance and menstrual waste management to the United Nations. The Innovating Dignity seminar at American Corner Moi University in December 2025 brought together 22 policymakers and 39 organisations and produced the 8 Principles of Menstrual Health, Hygiene and Dignity.

A youth-led framework produced at the Innovating Dignity seminar covering knowledge and education, access and affordability, product choice, WASH infrastructure, health and clinical care, inclusion and rights, innovation and youth leadership, governance and accountability.
