We’re proud to announce the completion of SMYLE Phase 2, expanding our sanitary dispenser program to six schools across Ruaraka. In partnership with Be Kids Australia, we surveyed 1,482 youth on their menstrual health behaviors and installed dispensers in Ngunyumu Comprehensive, St. Johns Korogocho, Tortola Rescue, Blessed Teresa of Calcutta, Baba Dogo Secondary, and Chandaria Comprehensive.
Key findings: 82% of girls surveyed prefer sanitary pads, and 97% of younger students choose pads when given access. Dispenser usage follows the academic calendar, proving that school-based solutions work.
Phase 2 data was presented at the MH&D Seminar with 22 policymakers and 39 organizations in attendance.
